There was talk that The Croatian Soccer Federation (HNS), as well as the other participating nations in the WC2006, had untill March 31 to submit their preliminary list of 30 WC2006 players. This mandate was never instituted and our man in charge, Zlatko Kranjcar, states they have no such obligation to FIFA.

Judging from his current quips and not so private thoughts to the media, his wider choice of 30 players are as follows:

Goalies: Butina, Pletikosa, Didulica and Turina
Defenders: Robert Kovac, Simic, Tomas, Simunic, Tokic, Krizanac, Corluka
Midfield: Tudor, Niko Kovac, Srna, Buljat, Babic, Seric, Jerko Leko, Bosnjak, Ivan Leko, Vranjes, Niko Kranjcar, Modric, Vugrinec and Bazina
Strikers: Prso, Klasnic, Olic, Balaban and Eduardo da Silva.

A final list of those 23 travelling to Germany must be submitted by May 15.
