Niko Kranjcar on his way to France ?

Hajduk Splits most talnted youngster, son of Croatia’s national coach zlatko Kranjcar, is believed to be in negotiations with French giant Olympique Lyon, as French and Croatian media report.

The French side is currently one of the best teams in Europe, performing excellently in this season’s Champions League and 13 points ahead of Paris St. Germain in Ligue 1. They are prepared to pay a total of approximately 4 million Euros for Croatia’s most promising talent.

Media spread some rumours, that Bayern and Werder Bremen are also chasing the youngster, but according to himself, the best cards in the game are in Lyon’s hand: “If I am not back in time for January 9 when Hadjuk Split start training again that will mean I am staying at Lyon.” According to a French daily, Hajduk Split’s director Fredi Fiorentini said, that the club prolonged his holidays, so he could talk to the Lyon officials.

Allthough Kranjcar just recently signed a contract with the team from the Adria coast until June 2008, a 4 Mio Euro offer is probably hard to reject for the Split officials. The upcoming star, who became a standard player in his father’s national team selection last year, scored 28 goals in 115 games for Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split.
