Jurica Vranješ injured…

April 26th, 2006 | By: Soze | 4 Comments »

Jurica Vranješ, a 26 year old defensive midfielder with Croatia’s National Team as well as Germany’s Werder, has been injured on Sunday in his game against Schalke in the Bundesliga. With this injury, his season is all but done, but he is confident that he will be fully recovered for the upcoming WC.

Werder, Bremen is in the throws of qualifying for the next Champions League season and his contribution will be missed since he has been a starting player for some time now. With this injury, I don’t know if this will change at all, but I hope to see him on the field during the Cup since his gameplay has really improved over the past 4 or 5 months. Well, maybe this month of rest will do him good and give him some time to scope out his dream job….editor of Playboy.

At Werder, he plays with his NT team-mate, attacker Ivan Klasnic. Both have had a great season and are crutial for the clubs success.

No team is immune from injuries it seems. Vranjes strained ligaments I believe in a knee, but least he’ll be back in time. Let’s hope that’s it before the start.

I hope so as well. There has been some bad luck for Croatia’s players this year. Butina, Simunic, Tokic..injured. Simic, Didulica, Tomas, Kovac..sidelined for various reasons, and now Vranjes.

Niko Kranjcar played one of his worst games ever this past weekend in Hajduk…i dunno what happened to him if it was injury related or mental strain or just plain lazyness.
