Why do you say that Pierce?

Oh poor Spain. Such a good team on paper but true perennial losers.
I think this will be a good game for both Spain and Croatia. For Croatia because it will give us a chance to play against a techically able opponent. This is why the Argentina game was so important to us. Our other friendlies are against countries that are more like us when it comes to style of play.
And this will also be good for Spain because they are in a group with teams that match Croatia in style.
Should be an interesting game.

Spain vs Croatia match should be a good primer for Croatia’s Brazil vs Croatia match. Should show Croatia’s preparedness against a good opponent. Soze check out the “Winners and Losers” blog that mentions the fax paux about the Croatian Flag and comments.

Yeah, I saw the story. I do not reply because this so called ‘old’ flag is not Croatian. It is a flag handed out by Yugoslavia to its republics. This flag with the star has never been accepted by or used by any Croatian team.

Actually if you look at the crest of the Republic of Croatia for the old Yu it was a Croatian Grb or checkerboard shield starting with a red square, so I guess the Communist regime didn’t have a problem with the crest and didn’t view it as “fascist”. Thanks for the response.

That was the coat of arms and never on the flag, but the yellow wheat wreath and star at the top clearly signals who’s in charge…..We’ll enough about that….
Looks like Simunic is healthy to play in the WC, thats good news. He played a full game at Hertha and was the star player of the defense….
