Didulica Fined

Joseph Didulica, goalie extrordinaire, has been fined 60,000 Euros for his dirty tackle on Axel Lawaree leaving him with a broken nose and a mild concusion.

In adition to his eight game suspension, Didulica has apparently lost a friend. Immediately after the incident, Joey tried to apologise, but Axel would not listen (He was a little dazed apparently). In the following days Didulica sent notes of apology and even tried to visit Axel in the hospital, but was turned away.

I admit, it seems like an aggressive play, but not one that was done with the intention to disfigure.

Didulica avoided jail time, was given community service and again tried to apologise to Axel. This is the first time a foul on the pitch has been reviewed by a civil court. I think it is a bad way to set a precident, because you know it’s only gonna get worse from here.

If there was ever an action on the field that deserved a fine it was Rivaldos antics in the WC2002 vs. Turkey. That only cost him $10,000.
