Croatia vs. Spain
Tomorrow is the last friendly that the NT will play in preperation to the WC. The line up is as follows: Pletikosa - Šimunic, Robert Kovač, Šimić - Srna, Niko Kovač, Tudor, Babić - Kranjčar - Pršo, Klasnić. Pletikosa has found his way back into the line-up and has also been confirmed by Cico Kranjčar to being the first goalie. I hope that all this confidence Cico has in Stipe will transfer to him and help him find his stride. Spain WILL be a true test of his abilities and readyness.
Spain has their own problems. Raul, the Spanish wonder-boy has been having a rough go of it lately and his performance has been lack-luster. Also, today in the Spanish camp there was a warm up game between the starter vs. the non-starters. The non-starters won 2:0. I wonder who will be joining us on the pitch tomorrow.

Pletikosa why?
The other big Q is why give Didulica a go when he is clearly a more accomplished goalie than Plentikosa?
This goalie politics just shits me

Croatia will win but Spain will score so i am predicting a 2-1 win for Croatia.
I just hope Kranjcar’s choice for the keeper position is the right one. I would have liked to see Didulica have a shot.

Cico shows confidence in Pletikosa, Why? Who knows, but the coach needs to have confidence in one of his goalies! Stampedeing diferent goalies in and out of games is not the solution. Sure we’d like to see Didiluca but as Soze pointed out, there are politics involved.
My second point, I think a strong office can alleviate some weakness in the defence. And croatia’s defence(in terms of age) is not young. All are over thrity(the starters tomorrow) except for Tudor and Simunic, and they have both been injured(recently or in the not distant past). Therefore, Kranjcar assessment of his defence was the correct one, when he quipped that his defence has been showing chinks in its armour. All I can see them doing is substituting offence for defence. Put Modric in and substitute either Tudor or Robert Kovac into the starting lineup. If you sub Kovac, put Tudor in the backfield. Even Vranjes would be a better choice than Tudor in the midfield, he just can’t keep up with the pace.
Finally what time is the game on and is there a link to it?

I live in Toronto and the game is at 3pm Local Time (EST), but I don’t know of any streams. I have RAI international (channel 701 on Bell ExpressVu) and they have the game.

I agree with tome, tudor is a no go in midfield even if it is
as a defensive midfielder.Tried
it and failed before.However,
niko and robert kovac are musts.
Boban named Niko as the most
important player and robert is
very reliable.Pletikosa’s form
is odd, once a certainty but since injuries a while back he’s
really dropped away in form. This defence worries me, they are great for 85 minutes but prone to one howler each per
game.Especially simunic. If anyone was to be removed it would be tudor from midfield for
real midfielders like modric or
the leko brothers, probably jerko.genuine attacking players.
But tudor would be in ahead of
Simunic since he’s just returning from injury. At least
the bench looks better than the
2002 and 2004 bench looked.
