Croatia vs. Poland..The Pregame.
Hello all. I am at a loss of passing on accurate information of who are going to be the starting players in tomorrow’s friendly against Poland. This morning, reports come out of the Croatian camp that Ivica Olić , Boško Balaban, Dario Šimić and Anthony Šerić have gotten food poisoning eating Kremšnite. Although only Šimić was in the starting lineup against Iran, Cico Kranjčar has some problems.
Igor Tudor is with his wife in Split because they had a baby boy on Monday, congratulations! Niko Kovač has back pain and is unlikely to play and now Ivan Leko and Dado Pršo have come down with the same symptoms as the first four, and have been transfered to a clinic for further analysis. If any more players become ill, it is doubtfull a worthwhile friendly can be played. Croatia will have enough players to show up on the pitch and play, but the players missing are all important to the existing strategy and will miss out on important team and play building excercise.
Modrić and Vranješ will be taking the places of Tudor and Niko Kovač, and Tomislav Butina will be starting in net instead of Pletikosa. Thank God!
So here is my best guess at the starting 11: Butina - Tomas, Robert Kovač, Šimunić - Srna, Vranješ , Modrić, Babić - Kranjčar - Bošnjak, Klasnić.

That’s not that bad. This ways he’ll be forced to try out more players than he has so far.

Eating Kremsite? That’s not exactly the kind of food I would be giving the players to eat in a WC training camp. They should be on a clean and healthy diet.
I happy to hear that Vranjes and Modric will be given a chance to shine in the center of the pitch. Even though Tudor and N. Kovac are experienced players, I feel Tudor is too big and slow to play in mid-field. While N. Kovac is old and may not have the stamina to play that many games in a short time frame.
So Cico has a dilemma: Does he go with speed, inexperience, and youth. Or does he go with experience at the cost of stamina and pace?
