Croatia vs. Brazil: 41 hours away!

June 12th, 2006 | By: Soze | 23 Comments »

As the opening match for Croatia and Brazil draws closer, all manner of opinions are coming out of the woodwork. Everyone and their mother has something to say on the outcome of this game. I have spent the last three days watching the games, some alone and most with friends and it’s been great. Our conversation usually comes around to “When does Croatia play?” and I answer Tuesday. “Who do they play against?”…”Brazil” I say. “OH SHIT!” is the usuall reply. It’s nice to see concern for my little team.

Some of the players have come out to comment on the game as well. Prso thinks it’s gonna be 0:0. Klasnic thinks he’s gonna score a couple. Tudor thinks we should pull down our underwear and see what happens to us????. I don’t get that.

I can hardly wait. I am having some friends over to my house for the game. Two are Brazilian and one Portuguese, and I will be the only one representing Croatia. Our protoge Brazil blogger Zé is also counting down the hours untill we meet. Euler, I expect pictures from your party.

For the record, my prediction is 2:2.

So they say ‘Oh shit’ right?

Even worse!!! One of your players believes that Croatia won’t be able to score at al????

Man, I hope I’m right about this…

Is this the time to forget the diplomacy and to cast some predictions? Brazil will score at least 3 goals. Croatia will score 3 also, but one of them will be the result of an offside position. Brazil will win.

Good luck!!! (or not!!!) :)

It will be a goal fest, Croatia’s defense have been close to shocking the last few friendlies so the mentality that Croatia will have is to score, score more then Brazil because we all know its close to impossible to hold the Brazilian team goalless. But I still believe Croatia will lift for this big occasion and I am predicting one of the best group games ever in a world cup!

3-2 Croatia, Olic will socre the winner, late in the game. Watch out for Srna… Get ready for one of the biggest shocks in this years world cup. PS. Prso is only predicting our team won’t score, so that Brazil will think less of us and more importantly him. It always best to be humbe going into a match… A rule the Brazilians rarely follow, but for the past 8 years they haven’t really needed to.

The atmosphere at this match is going to be the most balanced and awesome from both sides. With the huge amount of Croatians in Germany and Brazilians traveling in great football style everywhere there team go, will garan-dam-tee an display on the pitch and in the stands no one is going to want to miss.

To get us (Croatians) pumped even more have a look at this from one year back. I love this clip! (I’m going to post this on the Brazilian blog too)

BTW 2:1 Croatia taking the three points. :-)

I’m pretty sure Brazil will take it and someone from Croatia will get red carded. But let’s hope it’s a good game to watch and both teams give a good accounting of themselves.

Yeah i agree Ballzic. There WILL be a red card for a Croat. Problably Tudor for pulling his pants down. But i say if Trinidad can get a Draw against Sweden. Surely Croatia can do the same with Brazil?????

We shall soon find out!!

I cant wait !!!

Plus anyone know where all the Sweden girls are hanging out in pubs?

Euler, it’s not nice to gloat this early. I’m pleading with God for a Brazil spanking. But maybe a 2-2 tie if Brazil partys too hard tonight. Soze, send Euler a coupon for a Big Mac instead.

Kapcro> I am hoping that all those Brazilian girls that arrived in Germany will somehow keep the players out too long tonight and that Ronaldinho has found the other Chupacabra in the Bavarian mountains and he does not show up because it’s mating season or something. Without hope, there’s nothing.

Did you get my e-mail?

Well, Tudor said that as a joke. In Croatian there is a expression which involves naked asses and easy winning (the side that isn’t naked :)), so he said if they are so good, we best come prepared.

My prediction is a shock 2-0 victory for Croatia. Our defense will finally start defending and Srna will play like he used to. Goals by Prso (header) and Srna (free kick).

I can’t wait for Croatia to meet the Brasilians. I am gonna fire up the grill before match time, throw a few Cevapcici on it. Then dip them in Avjar and open up a can of Ozjusko–kick back, relax and cheer the Vatreni on!

I would rather they play the Carioca’s at the last match and get wins from the first two games out of the way.

This is the ultimate test for the Croatian side…we see what are boys are made of tommorrow!!!

I predict that we will pull a tie if not a win against Brazil. Euler the problem is you talk befor you think just like all the Brazillian’s and American’s do. What happened to the US against the Czech’s. To put in a nice way Croatians are one of the only teams that are not worried about the name on the back of their jersey but the name on the front. I can see us tieing 1:1 or an upset of Croatia wining 2:1 since Ante is right St. Anthony is with us tommorow.

Croatia will beat Brazil, if Italian Public Prosecutors do not arrest Robert KOVAC or Dario SIMIC, or if they do not strictly investigate other Croatian players who belong to Serie A of Italian football league, because of lack of send-off games of Brazil.
_
Unlike the other 31 qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup Germany, only Team Brazil despises test matches of its own all members against other strong national teams like the qualifiers.

Team Brazil will not go to the second round in FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany, because the team has not experienced any meaningful send-off game at all.
