Butina leaving for Greece

February 2nd, 2006 | By: Emir Dedic | No Comments »

According to Jadran Sport Croatian goalkeeper Tomislav Butina is moving to Greek Olympiakos at the end of this season from Belgium’s Club Brugge.

He has signed a 3 year preliminary deal with the Greek club. Reportedly he will earn 400,000 euros over a 3 year period in Greece.

This move will give Tomislav even more incentive to play great at the world cup. Since this deal is only preliminary, depending on how he does in the world cup, he might be able to get some more money, and finish his career in style. Tomislav is an experienced goalkeeper that worked hard for Club Brugge, as well as his previous club NK Dinamo Zagreb, but did not want to sign a short term agreement with the club.

Move to Greece will allow Tomislav to play on a more competitive level. Olympiakos is currently first in the table, which will allow him to play in the Champions League next season, barring the club finishes in the same spot.
