Butina injured
Tomislav Butina, Croatian number one keeper, suffered an injury this week in the UEFA match against Roma.
This means that he will not be playing when Croatia meets Argentina on March 1st.
Butina said that he pulled a muscle, but that it’s not too bad. He felt the pain last week as well, and he believes that it is best if he rests for a while. Butina will still travel to Zagreb and meet with the team on February 28th.
His replacement will be Joseph Didulica who was named as a reserve player earlier in the week by Zlatko Kranjcar. Hopefully, Butina will be able to fully recover by the world cup, because a last thing we need is to have a so so goalkeeper in front of Ronaldo, Adriano & co. That is when you have to start saying prayers. But hey, that still several months away, so LET’S GO VATRENI…beat Gauchos.

i also feel that Pletikosa is our best goal keeper, butina is a dunderhead, and compared to ladic he is a joker. Pletikosa is young and very talented, i felt that he should have been the starter in the last world cup and am glad he is getting his chance to shine again. he will shut argentina down.

I agree with you all, Butina is an average goalkeeper at best. He cant catch a ball, he makes far too many blocks which go back to the strikers. Stipe is the man, hopefully he steps up against the Argies and has a blinder. That way he can cement the No.1 as his owm.
