Modric Signs For Spurs

As both clubs have officially announced, Luka Modric will continue his career in North London, though not in an Arsenal shirt as many have at first foresaw, but in that of their biggest rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. This comes as a surprise due to him being strongly linked with a transfer to Newcastle not more than 24 hours ago.
As his current (or former) club states, the deal was struck late last night when a Tottenham official landed in Zagreb and presented an offer Mamic brothers simply couldn’t refuse. First reports say that the fee revolves around £20m, with Modric earning himself a £50k per week contract. Luka is apparently in London today where he should be presented to both his future teammates and fans.
* UPDATE *
I’ll let the picture do all the talking. Or not. Two characters you see on your left are of course Luka Modric and his new football director Damien Comolli, sitting together in White Hart Lane’s VIP lounge during a match between hosts Tottenham and Bolton. I guess there’s nothing left to say but a big thanks to Luka for staying with us at Dinamo for these past 3 years and gracing our modest stadiums with his magic. I’m certain he’ll do the same for all those success-hungry Spurs fans. Only the formalities remain obviously, Luka will take a medical and receive his working permit in the next few days and, after lifting another domestic trophy with Dinamo, finally move on to bigger and better things.
Officially, Spurs have paid Dinamo £15.8m and will pay Luka £50k p/w, warranting his services for the next 5 years.
