Meet Your Croat: The Limited Edition
To break some of the monotony, here’s Meet Your Croat, The Limited Edition:
Name: One Of Many, The Fan
Born: 20th century
Position: The Stands
Club: Various
National caps: 165 (0)
Biography:
Made his first steps by listening to his old man yell at some awkwardly dressed people on TV. Somehow inspired by this, he spoke his first word soon enough. I’ll just say the word wasn’t “mama” or “papa”, despite what the missus would have you believe. He started his professional career in early twenties, by regularly attending home games and frequently those away from home. Once in every two years he abandons his family and friends and goes on a pilgrimage taking nothing but his sacred red & white jersey and a few quids in his pocket. After a month or so, he’s back to his usual self. His body is in crumbles but his spirit is at ease.
On The Pitch:
You can’t see him. But he’s everywhere. The Borg collective. If you comply, he’ll be the
backbone of everything you do on the pitch. A moral booster or a wake up call. You name it and he’ll deliver. Failure to comply though (a.k.a. if you’re on the opposing side) will result in a constant buzzing sound your senses won’t be able to ignore. Your mother, father, children, brother, no one’s safe once the avalanche of insults starts pouring down. Resistance is futile (had to say it).
Off The Pitch:
Looks like your average fan, but feels somehow different. Not better, nor worse, but simply different. Feels good when in crowds. Leaves the impression of an all around nice guy. His temper is usually dictated by the scoreline. Loves to show how much he really cares. Cause at the end of the day, he’s just proud to be a Croat.
The Good: Noisy, instantly recognizable, passionate, inspiring, somewhat prone to beer
The Bad: Somewhat prone to beer, hopelessly deluded on occasions
The Random:
- I’ll let a few videos do all the talking on this one. Enjoy.
